I am sorry for this, but I am going to ask you to hold the book club chapters for a day. I am only on chapter 5. I just have been so busy, so I just wanted to ask you if you could take tomorrow off, that is to give me a day to catch up. I would appreciate it immensely, and can not convey how sorry I am. I really do like the book, it is just so hard for me this last few days. So we can start up on chapters 9-13 Sunday, if that is okay. It is getting late for me, so I need to go to bed now. I promise to catch up tomorow. Thanks for every thing,

ReplyDeleteHi, I just found your blog/group by chance and you are reading a book I know very well. May I say, when I first read the book over 15 years ago, I was shocked at the way the English tourists consider the Italians as savages, like animals more than human beings because they are passionate and demonstrative. Yet they admire the art and music and cultural fruits of this very same society that they treat as being inferior to theirs. That was my stand out impression at the time.
