Chapters 39-41 (Emma)

Bostan Said......

These chapters were a bit shorter, but none the less good. I found great amusement in the adventure with Harriet and the Gypsies. I can image her being frightened, I would be, but as her friend I would not have left her as her friend did. But i am also glad Mr. Churchill rescued her, and he must have found great amusement in doing so. And I think it is very big of Emma to hold back her ideas and suspicions. I always like the burning of the precious items, love it in every movie and the book. It is always comical of Harriet. I like her. And I also liked the last chapter, mostly it reflected Mr. Knightley's ideas and suspicions though as all of Jane Austen's books he is around women. Their is no scene with out the female voice or appearance. Mr. Knightley is very keen on not liking Frank. It is funny that he doesn't like him because he is the reasonable one who tries to at least vouch for someone.
Next chapters soon to come, loved them so far....

Lain Said.......

I really enjoyed these chapters even though they were on the short side. I have to say that I also found amusement in Harriet's meeting with the Gypsies. I think that Mr. Churchill enjoyed it, maybe a little to much. I am liking him less and less threw out the book. I was upset that he was teasing Miss Fairfax so!!! I think he is going to far with his teasing. I am curious how he did know about Mr. Perry and the carriage, I think it has something to do with Jane Fairfax telling him somehow. I am now with Mr. Knightley in his opinion of Mr. Churchill, and of a mutual understanding between him and Miss Fairfax.... I am very curious to see how this all turns out. I can't wait!!!!

Chapters 36-38 (Emma)

Bostan Said......

I enjoyed these three chapters immensely. I thought it was very good of Mr.Weston to try to be agreeable to Mrs. Elton. (well he is very agreeable all of the time which i like him for it) And i am so happy that he is always happy at his sons coming, i just really like him. I wish i knew someone like him. I do. And It was happy news that Frank is coming back, i didn't know if he was going to come back in the book or not. But i was surprised that he didn't spend more time with Emma. But all the while she is observing him and trying to think of a way to let him down easier. Though she is comforted to observe that he is less "in love with her." And i really liked the Ball at the crown Chapter immensely. I really enjoyed it! With Mr. and Mrs. Westons Agreeable ways, Emma's charming self, Frank's running about, Miss. Bates Talking on (though i do like babbling), Jane's soft self, Mrs. Elton's pushy self, Harriet's sweet nature, and Mr. Knightley's aim not to dance. I really liked the part when Mr.Knightley asks Harriet to dance. It was just so sweet!!!! I remember in one of my favorite movies Clueless how they made that scene between Mr. Knigtley (Josh) and Harriet (Tai), it just made me think of that. I also was glad Mr. Knightley decided to dance more than once, because i was thinking about going into the book and making him dance another time with someone. Well i liked these chapter again (well of course i did) and can't wait to read more.

Lain Said...........

I also liked these chapters. I do admit that I don't think that I could tolerate Mrs. Elton as well as Mr. Weston does. I have already acquired a deep dislike for her, and it deepened when she was encouraging her husband to hurt Harriet so!!!! I felt so bad for her, but then was so happy that Mr. Knightley saved her!!!!!! He just keeps rising in my opinion!!!! I liked that he asked (well sort of) Emma to dance, I think it is suggesting something further for later in the book. I think it is wonderful.... I have to say I don't like Mr. Churchill as much this time... I hope he does something to raise my opinion of him once again, but if he does not, oh well. I also thought Miss Bates' rambling was hilarious. I think she is a really sweet person, but yet if I had to deal with her in real life, I don't know if I could trust myself to think of her as kindly as I do now.. hehehehe. Well I liked these chapters and look forward to tomorrow's reading....

Chapter 33-35 (Emma)

Bostan Said.........

I really liked these chapters again. I thought it was funny how Mrs.Elton is developing. Now she calls Mr. Knightley, Knightley and is taken a fancy to Jane. Poor Jane, but she does handle it well and she does get more attention. I am not her number one supporter but i do feel bad for her. And i liked very, very much the conversation with Mr.Knightley and Mrs. Weston and Emma. I liked it as one of my favorite. Mr. Knightley blushes.

And i did think it was well of Harriet to stay home, it would have been worse if she had gone to the party. And i loved the party chapter, i was very happy with Mr. John K, and surprised by Mr. Weston's arriving at the party after the diner. I don't know how he could have done it all. But i can't wait to read the following chapters.

I really liked this chapter also. I myself felt badly for Miss Fairfax. I don't think I would have dealt half as well with Mrs. Elton's attention as she does. How she insisted so!!!!! And I would have been so very mad at her for trying to take control of my life. I did feel ever so bad for her, because Mrs. Elton was constantly talking about her as if she was not there!!!!!!! Oh, I have formed a deep disliking for Mrs. "E". Well on a good note, Mr. Churchill is coming back!!!! And so soon, I would never have guessed it! Though I know that his coming will upset Mr. Knightley, which makes me feel bad, for as much as I like Mr. Churchill, I like Mr. Knightley more. I did like to see his inner self with him blushing.... I can't wait to read more!!!!

Chapters- 30-32 (Emma)

Bostan Said..........

I really loved these chapters, and i liked how they went even though there was not ball.
It was sad that Churchill left and there was no ball, but i am sure other characters will fill in the gap. I loved the chapter on Emma thinking herself in love and talking about how much Mr.Churclill was and how she would let him down nicely and they all will be friends. And i really enjoyed the chapter of Mrs. Elton's visit. It was very fair of Emma to give her a second chance, but it was very funny when it didn't go very well. I know many of a Mrs. Elton, and she is very real in my mind. Her nature and mouth affords her no pleasures or rewards. Well i can't wait to read more,

Bostan~

Lain Said.........

I thought these chapters good, but a little sad. I was very sad to see Mr. Churchill leave. I think if he was given more time...... they would have become more attached, and who knows if Emma would have given way to marriage. Who knows.... I did like the chapters on Mrs. Elton. I thought her exceedingly annoying, and thought it hilarious how incensed Emma was becoming toward her. Hilarity in itself indeed. I am sorry to know that she offers little to the society. It would have been nice to have another female character of good humor, added to the story. I dearly hope that Mr. Churchill returns soon, and I can't wait to read more.....

Chapters 27-29 (Emma)

Bostan said.........

I really liked these chapters. For a few chapters we were seeing more of Mr. Churchill than Mr. Knightley but i am glad that he is coming more into the book again. Well i quiet liked the chapter when every one (like Emma, Harriet, Mr. Churchill, Mrs. Weston, And the Bates) were in the same house. And all the conversation was so entertaining i found it to be. And i thought it was very very funny when Mr. Knightley was stopped by Miss. Bates. Their short conversation made me laugh, how everybody heard them! And i also liked how Mr. Churchill came to ask what Emma thought of the ball/dance arrangements. And how they had to convince Mr. Woodhouse into thinking the taking of the Crown a good idea. Can't wait to read more

Lain Said.........

These chapters proved to be very entertaining. I deeply liked the chapter when they were all in the same room. To think that Mr. Churchill hinted so distinctly!!!!! The shame of it!!!!!!!! I can not imagine Miss Jane's embarrassment. I am still fond of Mr. Churchill, but am not quite sure what to make of him, with all his hinting. I am glad they are having a ball, for no Jane Austen novel is complete without a ball in my opinion. Well I can't wait to read more on the matter, and see how Emma, and Frank's dance go........ Till the next three.
